Mountain designs are a popular decor choice for specialty cakes. Whether it is for a birthday or a wedding, these designs can range in style from rustic to contemporary to modern. Join Rachael Teufel in this class for an in depth look at three styles of mountain cake designs and how each of these styles differ when applied to a single concept: Mountain Scenes. She will take you through each style from start to finish. By the end of this class, you’ll be able to create three mountain scenes using a palette knife technique and piped trees for a rustic buttercream style, hand painting on smooth fondant to create a contemporary watercolor style and cutting modeling chocolate appliqués for an elegant modern style. This class is packed full of different techniques along with all of Rachael’s tips and tricks for making cake decorating easy and enjoyable.

Rachael Teufel

Rachael grew up baking in the kitchen with her Hungarian grandmother, but she didn't discover her passion for cake decorating until later in life while seeking a creative outlet from her day job. She always had artistic interests, so cake decorating seemed like the perfect activity after a long day working as a Physical Therapist. Rachael launched Intricate Icings Cake Design in 2006 and quickly became known for creating cakes that were both delicious and beautiful. She enjoys translating any type of inspiration into an original cake design striving to think outside the box, explore new techniques, challenge her design skills, and push the limits of creativity! Intricate Icings is best known for their bridal gown-inspired cakes and more recently, the Geode Cake trend which took hold quickly over a large geographic band making it one of the most recognizable design concepts in recent years. Rachael's work is now nationally recognized and can be seen on episodes of Food Network Challenge as a competitor as well as on Hulu’s Baker’s Dozen and Food Networks Buddy VS Duff as a Judge!

How do I know what the Class covers?

Every Class has a free Preview video you can watch, to give you a flavor of the Instructor and the skills or project that will be covered. In addition, the Overview tab includes a thorough written description of the Class. And finally, each Class Session has a brief written summary of the content in that Session, including the length of each Session video. You will get a good feel for the Class content by reviewing these resources.

How do I access/view my Class?

Once you’ve paid, you can access/view your Class by going to the MY ACCOUNT section of Creative Cake Design. The MY ACCOUNT link is in the upper right-hand area of the website. Within your MY ACCOUNT, a section labeled “Classes” will appear, including a link to watch the video of your Class. You’ll also receive an email confirmation after your purchase, which will include a link to view your Class. You can access your Class as many times as you wish, and you’ll never lose access to your Account information. Just be sure to “Log In” for access to MY ACCOUNT.

Do I have to take the Class right away?

Can I view a Class on my tablet device or mobile phone?

How do I get access to the Bonus Materials for the Class?

Until you purchase a Class, the Bonus material (any extra videos, download materials, etc.) will not be accessible. Once you purchase a Class, and go to view your Class, each individual Bonus element is accessible by simply clicking on each item. You’ll find the Bonus Materials directly below your main Class viewer frame. You can access the bonus materials as many times as you like and/or save them to your device.

How does the Class Q&A Resource benefit work?

Once you purchase any Class, within the Class viewing page, you’ll have access to post a question, comment or tip in the Class Q&A Resource area. This is not a “live chat,” but Creative Cake Design contributors will answer posted questions and provide tips regularly.
