Wafer paper is a flexible sheet of edible paper that can be manipulated into many different shapes. This medium has several uses like making flowers, bows, sails, and wraps to name few, but it can be a little finicky by being too dry or too wet.

Join Rachael Teufel in this free lesson to learn how to properly store wafer paper with wet sponges to maintain the hydration level of the wafer paper. Along the way she shares a few common products used with wafer paper like water, alcohol, and piping gel, as well as how they affect the wafer paper. You’ll see what happens when wafer paper is too dry, and on the flip side, too wet. She also gives a few pointers for keeping your work surface clean and organized while working with wafer paper to avoid any accidental mishaps.

And lastly, Rachael shares two ways to color wafer paper and talks through the differences between using petal dust versus airbrush color. By the end of this lesson, you will have an understanding of some of the dos and don’ts of wafer paper to help you tackle your next project successfully.
